Information: All songs on From Elvis in Memphis were recorded at American Sound Studios in Memphis in January and February 1969. The original pressings were on non-flexible vinyl; later pressings were on flexible vinyl. An 8"-by-10" photo from Elvis's 1968 TV special was included as a bonus. Sales of the album exceeded $1 million and a Gold Record was certified by the RIAA on January 28, 1970.

From Elvis in Memphis had a 24-week stay on Billboard's Top LPs chart, peaking at #13. On the Country LPs chart, the album reached #2 (for two weeks) and stayed on the chart for 34 weeks. The Johnny Cash at San Quentin album was  number one for the two weeks that From Elvis in Memphis was #2. In England, the album reached number one. The eight-track cartridge release hit #14 on Billboard's Best-Selling Cartridge chart.
