Fred Wise e Ben Weisman escreveram As Long As I Have You para o filme de Elvis de 1958, King Creole. Elvis gravou a canção no Radio Recorders em 16 de janeiro de 1958. Gravaram-se duas versões, uma para o disco e outra mais curta que ainda não foi oficialmente lançada, muito embora já tenha aparecido em alguns lançamentos pirata. No final de 1958, Don Rondo fez uma versão de As Long As I Have You (Jubilee 5334) que não entrou nas tabelas.
