 I’ve Got a Thing About You Baby foi escrita por Tony Joe White e gravada pela primeira vez por Billy Lee Riley (Entrance 7508) em 1972. A sua gravação mal conseguiu entrar na tabela Hot 100, chegando apenas ao 93º lugar.

 

Elvis gravou I’ve Got a Thing About You Baby em 22 de julho de 1973, nos Stax Studios de Memphis. O seu lançamento em single teve uma permanência de 12 semanas na tabela Hot 100 da Billboard, chegando ao 39º lugar. Saiu-se melhor nas tabelas country e Easy-Listening, chegando aos 4º e 27º lugares, respetivamente.
