Informação:
Doc Pomus e Mort Shuman escreveram Little Sister para Elvis,
que a gravou em 26 de junho de 1961, nos estúdios da RCA, em Nashville. O
seu lançamento em single passou um total de 13 semanas na tabela Hot 100 da
Billboard, chegando à 5ª posição. As vendas excederam o milhão de
exemplares. Na Inglaterra, Little Sister foi número um durante quatro
semanas. Poucos meses depois de Little Sister ter sido lançada, LaVern Baker
gravou Hey, Memphis (Atlantic 2119), como um seguimento da gravação de
Elvis. Hey, Memphis, que usava a mesma música de Little Sister, também foi
escrita por Doc Pomus e Mort Shuman. Elvis cantava ocasionalmente Little
Sister ao vivo em medley com Get Back.
Um
ensaio de Little Sister nos estúdios da MGM em Culver City em julho de 1970
foi utilizado no documentário Elvis – That’s The Way It Is.
Em
1988 o vídeo de Dwight Yoakam para Little Sister foi nomeado para o Top
Country Vídeo pela Country Music Association Awards.
