Informação:

Dallas Frazier escreveu There Goes My Everything em 1965, tendo por base o casamento desfeito de dois amigos. Jack Greene pegou na canção e levou-a ao topo da tabela country em 1967. A sua gravação (Decca 32023) foi nomeada Single do Ano na Cerimónia de entrega de Prémios anual da Country Music Association. Em 1967 Englebert Humperdinck teve um disco que vendeu um milhão de exemplares com There Goes My Everything (Parrot 40015), chegando à 20ª posição da tabela Hot 100 da Billboard. Outra gravação popular nesse ano foi por Sue Raney (Imperial 66222).

 

Elvis gravou There Goes My Everything em 8 de Junho de 1970, nos estúdios da RCA em Nashville. O seu lançamento em single teve uma permanência de nove semanas na tabela Hot 100, chegando à 21ª posição. Na tabela country, a canção, emparelhada com I Really Don't Want to Know, chegou ao 9º lugar - o primeiro êxito country de top 10 de Elvis desde  1958. There Goes My Everything chegou ao 2º lugar na tabela Easy-Listening. Apenas Watching Scotty Grow de Bobby Goldsboro impediu que chegasse ao primeiro lugar.
