Doc Pomus e Mort Schuman escreveram esta canção título para o filme de Elvis de 1964, Viva Las Vegas. Elvis cantou Viva Las Vegas três vezes no filme, uma delas em dueto com Ann-Margret. Gravou a canção em julho de 1963 no Radio Recorders. Viva Las Vegas passou sete semanas na tabela Hot 100 da Billboard, chegando à 29ª posição e diz-se que vendeu mais de um milhão de exemplares.
