Quando Elvis' Golden Records, Vol. 3 foi lançado em agosto de 1963, ninguém do rock'n'roll até aquele ponto, sem contar com Elvis, tinha alguma vez conseguido um segundo volume com grandes êxitos, quanto mais um terceiro. Também personificava os melhores exemplos comerciais da nova maturidade de Presley do pós Exército, tanto como vocalista, como músico, e as canções apresentadas neste álbum alcançaram um nível sem paralelos de sucesso nas tabelas de todo o mundo por um artista entre 1960 e 1963
