Information: Elvis' Christmas Album featured eight Christmas songs recorded at Hollywood's Radio Recorders, September 5-7, 1957, and the four spiritual songs that appeared on the Peace in the Valley EP. The LP had a booklike cover that opened to reveal a 10-page album of color photos of Elvis. Original issues had a gold gift sticker attached to the plastic bag that contained the album. The sticker had "From _________, to _________" on it, as well as an "Elvis Sings" and listing of the 12 songs. Elvis' Christmas Album eventually achieved sales of over 1 million and a Gold Record was certified by the RIAA on August 13, 1963.

Elvis' Christmas Album went to number one on Billboard's Best-Selling LPs chart in December 1957, succeeding the Around the World in 80 Days soundtrack. It remained in the top spot for three weeks and then fell to #2 when Bing Crosby's Merry Christmas album rose to number one. Elvis' Christmas Album regained the top spot one week later and then left the chart the next week. Ricky Nelson's Ricky LP was the nation's new number one album. In all, Elvis' Christmas Album was number one for four weeks and on the chart for a total of seven weeks.
