Black Brocade & Gold Trim
Las Vegas, Season 2 – 57 Shows – January 26th – February 23rd 1970

Black Brocade & Gold Trim is a one-colored black outfit with three inches wide embroideries in gold around the chest opening and the high collar. The pattern consists of small embroidered whales. This gold pattern is exactly the same as on the outfit wore by the African American dancer in the song Motherless Child, the intro for Elvis Gospel Medly in the 1968 Comeback Special. On each side of the sleeves, there are three black cuff buttons. The belt is weaved macramé in black, with gold colored studs. The ropes at the end were tied on Elvis left side. Some people claims that Elvis wore this suit at the opening show on January 26th 1970, but it has not been verified. No known Elvis photos wearing this jumpsuit.

Black & Gold Brocade, Black Sleek ou Black Tapestry, as also known, was probably used several times in the January-February 1970 Las Vegas season. This suit is today on display at Graceland without the belt, which was in display at The King's Ransom Museum, in Las Vegas, before the Museum was closed.
