(Bill Strange & Mac Davis)

Information:
Bill Strange and Mac Davis wrote A Little Less Conversation for Elvis's 1968 film, Live A Little, Love A Little. The instrumental track for the tune was recorded on March 7, 1968, at Western Recorders. Elvis's vocal was probably recorded at a later date. A Little Less Conversation had a four-week stay on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, reaching #69. An instrumental track was recorded for the 1968 TV special, Elvis, but it was decided not to use it in the program. The LP release of A Little Less Conversation is an alternate take.

In 2002, the 1968 Comeback Special version of the song was remixed by Junkie XL and became a Number 1 hit in over 20 countries. At about the same time, a compilation of Presley's U.S. Number 1 chart hits, entitled ELV1S 30 #1 Hits, was being prepared for release. "A Little Less Conversation" (remix version) was quickly added as the album's 31st track just before its release in October 2002.

The remixed song was used by Nike as the background music to a series of TV commercials featuring international soccer stars in conjunction with the 2002 FIFA World Cup. It was also featured in the 2001 version of the movie, Ocean's Eleven and is the opening theme of the broadcast version (in some countries, including the U.S.). It was also used on Konami's European adaptation of their flaship dancing simulation VG Dance Dance Revolution, on the soundtrack of Dancing Stage MegaMix. This song was used as Howard Dean's campaign theme song for his failed 2004 presidential campaign.

Lyrics:

1. A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain't satisfaction in me
A little more bite, a little less bark
A little less fight, a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me, satisfy me baby

Baby close your eyes and listen to the music
Dig to the summer breeze
It's a groovy night and I can show you how to use it
Come along with me and put your mind at ease, hey

1. (repeat)

Come on baby I'm tired of talking
Grab your coat and let's start walking
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on
Don't procrastinate, don't articulate
Girl, it's getting late, you just sit and wait around

1. (repeat)
