Santa Claus is Back in Town was written for Elvis by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Elvis recorded the song, which is also known as Christmas Blues, on September 7, 1957, at Radio Recorders. Take #7 was released on record. Santa Claus is Back in Town was recorded for - but not used in - the 1968 TV special, Elvis. The single did not chart.
