Spanish Eyes

download

(Kaempfert / Singleton / Snyder)

Information:
Spanish Eyes was written and recorded by Bert Kaempfert as an instrumental titled Moon Over Naples (Decca 31812) in 1965. His recording reached #59 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and #6 on the Easy-Listening chart. Charles Singleton and Eddy Snyder wrote English lyrics to the song and retitled it Spanish Eyes. Al Martino's recording (Capitol 5542) in 1966 sold over a million copies and reached number one on the Easy-Listening chart and #15 on the Hot 100 chart.

Elvis recorded Spanish Eyes on December 16, 1973, at Stax Studios in Memphis. When Elvis sang the song in concert, Sherrill Nielsen sang duet with him.

Lyrics:

Blue Spanish Eyes, teardrops are falling from your Spanish eyes
Please, please don't cry, this is just adios and not good-bye
1. Soon I'll return, bringing you all the love your heart can hold
Please say "Si, Si", say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me

1. (repeat)

Say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me
