Information:

Words was written by the Bee Gees (Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb) and recorded by them in 1968. Their version (Atco 6548) reached #15 on the Hot 100 chart and became a million-seller.

 

Elvis sang Words in concert on August 22, 1969, at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. It is that version that it is on record. A July 1970 rehearsal of Words at the MGM studios was shown in the documentary Elvis - That's the Way It Is.
