 Indescribably Blue foi escrita por Darrell Glenn e gravada por Elvis no dia 10 de Junho de 1966, nos estúdios da RCA, em Nashville. O lançamento em single teve uma permanência de oito semanas na tabela Hot 100 na Billboard, chegando ao 33º lugar. No início da terceira frase, “I smile and tell them, it’s been a day or two”, Elvis antecipa-se uma fracção de segundo na palavra “I”. As vendas globais foram estimadas em mais de um milhão de exemplares.
