Please don't Drag that String Around foi
escrita por by Otis Blackwell e Winfield Scott. Elvis gravou a canção em 26
de maio de 1963 nos estúdios da RCA em Nashville. Muito embora tenha sido
lançada em single, Please don't Drag that String Around não entrou nas
tabelas - um dos poucos discos de Elvis da era pré-Beatles que não entrou
nas tabelas. Algumas fontes afirmam que esta canção vendeu mais de um milhão
de exemplares. Umas poucas de impressões do single tinham escrito na
etiqueta Please don't Drag that String Along em vez de of Around.
