Pledging My Love (Washington / Robey Informação: Pledging My Love foi escrita por Ferdinand Washington e Don Robey e originalmente gravada por Johnny Ace (Duke 136) em finais de 1954. O single de Ace foi um êxito Nº 1 na tabela de rhythm & blues e de Top 20 (Nº 17) na tabela Best-Selling Singles. O seu disco tinha acabado de ser lançado quando ele cometeu suicídio por jogar a Roleta Russa na véspera de Natal de 1954. Outros lançamentos ao longo dos anos incluem os de Teresa Brewer (Coral 61362) em 1955, de Roy Hamilton (Epic 9294) em 1958, de Johnny Tillotson (Cadence 1377) em 1960, de Laura and Johnny (Silver Fox 1) em 1969 e de Kitty Wells (Decca 32840) em 1971.
Elvis gravou Pledging My Love em Graceland na noite de 29 para 30 de Outubro de 1976. A faixa instrumental e misturas foram feitas no Creative Workshop, em Nashville, em 22 ou 23 de Janeiro de 1977. Emparelhada com Way Down, Pledging My Love destronou Rolling with the Flow de Charlie Rich no 1º lugar na tabela country em Agosto de 1977. Depois de ter passado apenas uma semana no topo, foi substituída por Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue, de Chrystal Gayle. O tempo total de permanência na tabela foram 17 semanas.
