Reconsider Baby foi escrita e gravada por Lowell Fulson em finais de 1953. A sua gravação (Checker 804) alcançou o 3º lugar na tabela rhythm & blues da Billboard em 1954.

Elvis gravou Reconsider Baby em 4 de abril de 1960, nos estúdios da RCA em Nashville. Durante anos, a sua gravação na Bloch Arena de Honolulu, em 25 de março de 1961, apareceu em álbuns pirata. Finalmente, em 1980, a RCA lançou a gravação ao vivo no conjunto/caixa Elvis Aron Presley.
