Information: All the songs on this album were recorded at RCA's Nashville studios - Snowbird and Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On on September 22, 1970, and the other 10 cuts, June 4-8, 1970. The song I Was Born About Ten Thousand Years Ago was briefly sung at the end of each song. A tinted bonus photo of Elvis at the age of two was included with the album. The same photo appeared on the front cover. Original pressings of the record were on nonflexible vinyl; all presssings after 1971 were on flexible vinyl. Sales of Elvis Country exceeded $1 million. A Gold Record was certified by the RIAA on December 1, 1977.

Elvis Country has a 21-week stay on Billboard's Top LPs chart, peaking at #12. It reached #6 on the Hot Country LPs chart and had a stay of 26 weeks. The eight-track version of Elvis Country peaked at #12 on the Best-Selling Cartridges chart.
