Steadfast Loyal and True

download

(Leiber / Stoller)

Information:

Steadfast Loyal and True was the school song of Royal High School in Elvis's 1958 film King Creole. The film and record versions were recorded on the movie set sometime in January or February 1958. A studio take from the January 16 session at Radio Recorders appears on the bootleg From the Beach to the Bayou. Vocal overdubs by the Jordanaires were done on June 19, 1958. Steadfast Loyal and True was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and is the official song of the International Elvis Presley Appreciation Society.

Lyrics:

1. Farewell, Royal High School, we'll remember you

Dear alma mater, we're steadfast, loyal and true

As we go onward in the lives we lead
Your light will guide us, your motto is our creed
We will look back fondly at your ivy walls
Recalling precious moments within your hallowed halls

1. (repeat)
