Winter Wonderland

download

(Smith / Bernard)

Information:

This perennial Christmas favorite was written in 1934 by Dick Smith and Felix Bernard. One of the first recordings of Winter Wonderland was by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians (Decca 294) in 1934. The next year, Ted Weems and His Orchestra, with vocal by Parker Gibbs, had a popular recording (Columbia 2976). Buy Lombardo with the Andrew Sisters had a million-seller with Winter Wonderland (Decca 23722) in 1946, as did Perry Como for RCA Victor (RCA 1968) that same year. Collective sales of Winter Wonderland by all artists through the years has exceeded 45 million copies.

Elvis recorded Winter Wonderland on May 16, 1971, at RCA's Nashville studios.

Lyrics:

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening

In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight
Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song as we go along
Walkin' in a winter wonderland

1. In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say are you married, we'll say no man,
But you can do the job when you're in town

2. Later on we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid the plans that we made
Walkin' in a winter wonderland

1. 2. (Repete)

Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Walkin' in a winter wonderland

I said walkin' in a winter wonderland
