Information: Gene MacLellan wrote Put Your Hand in the Hand, which was first recorded by Beth Moore (Capitol 3013) in early 1971. The big hit with the song was by Ocean (Kama Sutra 519) later that year. Their recording went to #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and became a million-seller. Anne Murray also had a moderate hit with Put Your Hand in the Hand (Capitol 3082) in 1971. Shirley Caeser won a Grammy Award for Best Soul Performance of 1971 for her recording. The full title of the song is Put Your Hand in the Hand (of the Man from Galilee).
Elvis recorded Put Your Hand in the Hand at RCA's Nashville studios on June 8, 1971.
