(Robin & Rainger)

Information:
Blue Hawaii was written by Leo Robin and Ralph Rainger in 1937, and introduced in the movie Waikiki Wedding by Bing Crosby, who also recorded the song that year. Crosby’s recording (Decca 1175) was made with Lani McIntire and His Hawaiians. In 1959 Billy Vaughn reached #37 on the Hot 100 chart with his recording of Blue Hawaii (Dot 15879).

Elvis recorded Blue Hawaii for his 1961 movie of the same name on March 22, 1961, at Radio Recorders. The Take #7 was used for the film and on record. After the worldwide telecast of Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii, Elvis recorded Blue Hawaii for the NBC-TV version of the special, which aired in the United States on April 4, 1973.

Lyrics:

Night and you
And blue Hawaii
The night is heavenly
And you are heaven to me

Lovely you
And blue Hawaii
With all this loveliness
There should be love

1. Come with me
While the moon is on the sea,
The night is young
And so are we, so are we

2. Dreams come true
In blue Hawaii
And mine could all come true
This magic night of nights with you

1. 2.
