Information: All songs on Elvis in Concert were recorded live in Omaha, Nebraska (June 19, 1977), and Rapid City, South Dakota (June 21, 1977). Originally, RCA was there to record the shows for the CBS-TV special, Elvis in Concert. But after Elvis's death, it was decided to quickly release this two-record set. Sides A and B, plus Early Mornin' Rain were actually used on the TV special. An advertisement for current RCA LPs was included with each Elvis in Concert album. The album sold over one million copies within days of its release and received a Platinum certification from the RIAA on October 14, 1977. Elvis in Concert peaked at #5 on Billboard's Top LPs chart during it's 17-week stay on the chart. |
